TO OUR YOUNGER SELVES // Part 1

Recently I took to my tumblr account ( follow me FOLLOW ME HERE) and to 2 group chats of my friends to find out what other people wish they could've told their younger selves . I got some very mixed and some very similar responses but that being said all were extremely interesting to read and I'm turning this into part 1 of a series because i really enjoyed writing it all up properly  . It's nice to be able to reach out to people around me on my social media or in real life  and hear what they have to say instead of just basing a post off my own input . I asked them all to start off the sentence with " To my younger self" then carry it on with the advice they would've liked to give themselves and possible other young people around them . These were the responses :

'TO MY YOUNGER SELF'...

"Don't worry that much about how you look or what others think about your looks"- Bianca Bars , the editor of fanciful magazine and one of my best friends .

" Don't be afraid of who you are. Accept yourself, because it's a lot easier once you do. You'll get through seventh grade no matter how many times you give up and hurt yourself. Be who you want, not who they want you to be" - Planetarypanic on tumblr

"Do what you love, be whoever you want to be, and give less of a fuck about the opinions people around you when you didn't care for them anyways" - Tumblr anon

"Avocado is actually nice" - Amber Kirk-Ford (themilelongbookshelf) , a sarcastic asshole of a long time friend

"Don't care about what people think about you" - Katie , a writer for fanciful magazine

"Don't be afraid to be you, and don't stay friends with people if they're assholes to you. They're not worth it. Also, you're whole grade doesn't hate you. A few people do, but they don't matter so don't pay attention to them" - Tumblr anon

"Don't be afraid to put yourself in first place, stop caring so fucking much about the feelings of those people that you call your friends, you know how fake they are, stand up for yourself . You owe them nothing" - Tumblr anon

" Be confident, it's okay to be weird . Weird is good . It's okay to be different. It's okay for a man to love a man , or a woman to love another woman , Love is love . You are beautiful no matter what anyone says! You should be proud of the person you were , the person you are now and the person you are becoming"  - Kenzie Rigg , a very close friend of mine

"I would tell myself that I need to trust my own feelings. Everything  you feel is valid" - Erin Noel , truly the best friend I could ever ask for in life

"It doesn't matter that that boy doesn't like you. You don't like that boy either. You're gay smh"- a Tumblr anon .

"Do one thing everyday that scares you' That's literally it. I like how I found my way to be who I am and I wouldn't be if I hadn't gone through shit, but this advice is everything. Everything." A Tumblr anon .

Never stop dreaming. Because one day you know its goanna pay off it - Hannah Munnelly (tronlerspickle on Tumblr ) my high school best friend who I trust with my life .
