Okay so its june , we're half way through the year already and theres a couple of things I've been completely OBSESSED and felt very needy to share with other people and I've felt more and more as the months go by that I've been loving watching favourites videos on youtube or reading other peoples blog post favourites because it helps me discover things I've never tried before and even just to have a nosy at what other people are loving
I decided to start off with some Beauty , some lifestyle (???) and some just odds and ends such as songs , books or films that I've been completely in love with this month . so lets jump right into it
Spotify - With all of the long car journeys ( and being sat in a school classroom silently revising for hours upon end) i feel like this month spotify has been an absolute life saver . Ive had spotify for a while now but never premium so i decided to try out the free month of premium and i have to say i'll probably be keeping it once the month is up . I've probably been using spotify for the most mundane of things like playlists that suit my mood or just to create a playlist that will run for the amount of time I'm in a car and i won't get bored of easily and feel the need to change the song every 2 seconds .
My favourite playlists to listen to are :
Acappella - If , like me , you're a huge fan of A Cappella music / bands you'll fall in love with this playlist . i found it when Scott Hoying a member of the A Cappella band Pentatonic , tweeted out a link saying a couple of the bands songs were featured . As a massive fan of A Cappella music i cannot get enough of this playlist!
Sleep - If you love to fall asleep to music and never really can find anything you can enjoy that is chilled enough but still with great lyrics i found a couple of songs that i adore by a few artists that are roughly the same style but i have absolutely no problem winding down to fall asleep to
Beyonce - i think this one is pretty much self explanatory , if you love beyonce and want to listen to her entire discography here you are .
Lush R&B hair moisturiser - If , like me, you have naturally dry , curly hair this little thing is going to change your hairs life for the better . Being a lush product all of the ingredients are natural meaning you aren't putting any harsh , nasty chemicals into your hair and the very strong smell of avocado is just a bonus . Personally , i wash my hair every other day meaning that every time i get out of the shower i put this on my hair too . Whilst your hair is still wet you just take the tiniest bit on your fingertips and smooth it through the mid-lengths / ends of your hair along with whatever other products you normally use . After i use it it leaves my hair feeling so soft and smells the best .
A Work In Progress - Connor Franta - Oh my god I'm in love with this book . it took me around 4 hours to read in total and i read it all in one day , which for me , is unusual . Whilst reading Connors memoir i felt so engrossed in every single word that was written on the page . i felt as if i could relate to a lot of what was said and i loved every moment of it . Swell as being a fricking good read the layout , photography and design within the book all looked so pretty and like something that you'd just want to stick up on your wall and stare at forever , i have to say i'll probably be re reading this book sometime in the very near future as well as forcing some family and friends to also read it .
Lush Somewhere over the rainbow soap - We don't have a lush local to us where I'm from so needless to say when i visited Birmingham for the Pentatonix concert i bought 1 or 2 bits from the store there and i was just skimming my eyes over the soap table when i spotted this little beauty . It was a massive wheel of rainbow soap , I'm pretty sure the man told me it was a limited edition one and they'd only have it in the shop for a few more days so i picked up a square . it has a very fresh lemony smell to it and glitters loads . i do wish id picked up a bigger block of it . i love it!
Pentatonix - Im not really sure if these guys count as a monthly favourite because lets face it , when am i not obsessed . But on may 2nd i was lucky enough to go to the PTX show at the 02 Academy in Birmingham and the atmosphere was so crazy , i loved every minute of it and pentatonix were probably the best live performers I've ever heard .
Polaroid Photos - Oh my god they're adorable . When i recently hung out with a few friends one of them brought along her fujifilm instax camera which is a little Polaroid camera made by instax and i was obsessed ! . Obviously the quality from an iPhone / digital camera would take a better quality photo but theres just something so authentic about taking a photo and watching it print and develop as something you can keep as a physical little photo forever and ever , hanging out with said friends resulted in way to many of these being taken but they're memories ill get to treasure forever and i love it .
Okay so i guess thats what I've been enjoying throughout the month of may . I think its interesting with a favourites post / video because a lot of the time what someones been enjoying can truly reflect parts of their personality well ( a rainbow soap and an app represents me? i guess so ) which is why i , personally , decided to write it all up
